All the models come standard with the new, Lincoln Diamond Core Technology and Lincoln’s rugged drive system with will deliver legendary performance whether MIG welding on thin gauge steel, stainless and aluminum or gasless flux-cored welding which gives deep penetration for thick steel. Power MIG 140 models all run on 120 volt current which means you won’t have to install a seperate circuit. They put out a consistant 30-140 amps, that means you won’t have any trouble MIG welding 10 ga. (.135”) in a single pass or self-shielded flux-core welding 5/16″ in multiple passes. Power MIG 180 models use 230 volt power and 25-180 amps, more than enough power to MIG weld 3/16” in a single pass or up to ½” in multiple passes with self-shielded flux-core wire.

I think my review is slightly biased because when I received the Lincoln Power MIG 140C it was DOA. However after getting a replacement (no problem exchanging, they paid the shipping) I am fairly satisfied with this welder. It doesn’t have quite as much power as I had hoped for. I think maybe I should have gotten a Lincoln Power MIG 180C instead.
