Clausing Lathes are made by the 600 Group. The 600 Group is the founder of many of the industry’s best names, such as Harrison and Colchester Lathes, Richmond Machining Centres, Electrox Laser Marking Systems, Crawford Collets and Gamet Bearings.

The 600 Group’s main line is machine tools. A machine tool is a powered mechanical device, typically used to fabricate metal components of machines by the selective removal or shaping of metal. Most machine tools can be operated either manually or by using automatic (CNC) controls.
The Group takes its name from the early head office address at 600 Commercial Road in East London. It grew over the years into one of the UK’s leading metal recovery and engineering businesses and became a public company in 1947.
