Lotos plasma cutters and welders have been produced with the most innovative electrical converter engineering. The 50/60Hz frequency from your power system is inverted to high pitch (over 100 KHz) by V-MOSFET preceded by reduction in voltage and rectification current. Using PWM (pulse width modulation) technology, the inverter power supply yields powerful DC welding current. Switch power inverter technology is employed; so the dimensions and weight of the primary transformer are significantly cut back, while efficiency is increased by 30%. You will find that it is no trouble to strike an spark easy because of the high frequency cycle.
- Stabilization
- Reliability
- Portability
- Power efficiency and Low noise output
- High cutting speed

Lotos are a GREAT deal… this relatively small company produces some top of the line equipment at affordable prices. And they stand behind what they sell 100%
I got one of these for my husband for his birthday, and he loves it. Words can NOT express our amazement with this little baby! AWESOME!
Hi, I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how pleased I am with the lotos plasma cutter. I am genuinely impressed with the machine and would recommend it to everyone. Your delivery time and packaging was outstanding. Thank you again for the great deal on this unit. Sincerely, David Hartley.
Great Machine with Great after-sale Service. Would recommend this brand. Boy friend really loves it.
I got my CT520D on ebay for $460.00 shipped free. It came complete and ready for cutting or stick welding. The tig system had a few glitches. First of all the gas meter has the wrong end for US argon bottles. Lucky for me I had a bad meter from which I could rob the fitting. It also didn’t come with any electrodes. With that said, the plasma cutter burns through 3/8 quickly and cleanly. The stick welder actually lays a smoother bead then my Hobart AC/DC Stickmate. I am having a hard time believing this inexpensive all-in-one welder/cutter can hold up to the same usage as my Hobart of Miller 200. It is just soooooo light.
The wiring instructions suck. The heavy green and heavy black wires are your commons when wired for 220V. The little 16 gauge wire with the green stripe is the neutral. I didn’t like the Idea of such a tiny neutral so I ran a 10 gauge wire from the earth ground terminal, taped it to the power cord and attached it to the neutral/ground terminal. Overall fit and finish isn’t typical Chinese. My biggest complaint is the fact that it is Chinese. But it would have cost 3 to 4 time more for a USA brand. So Far So good.
I purchase the high end 520 and was very displeased. First of all the instructions are useless, you can tell they were translated from Chinese into English and are absolutly usless. No details of how to operate the unit what so ever. Could not get the plasma to work properly and ruined a piece i was working on. No mention at all that the tig wont work with out a tungsen rod. You would think such a vital piece of info would be included in the instructions. Where did i go to get the correct info? Good old American made Miller. Their instructions are precise and a valuable source of welding information. As we all know you get what you pay for. I paid 650.00 for the unit a Miller unit of the same type is between 2000-3000. You can certainly tell the difference in quality.
i bought the 520d instructions were no help at all it would not arc sent it back for repairs had to pay for the shipping it came back and still did not work.i’m in the middle of trying to get my money back. very unhappy with item.
I purchased this unit from Lotos shop in san francisco bay area. this unit is amazing. I just want to tell you that how pleased i am with this unit. they offer very good after-sale service too.
I got this lotos cut50d from uwelding.com, it works perfect for my racing car project. saves big $$$….
My Cut 50 works great. Nobody believes what this thing will do until I show them. Only down side is finding the consumables. Can’t buy only a few. They are only sold on eBay at $100+ for 90 pieces.
My CT520D works perfect for both cutting and welding. However it can not weld aluminum. I got it from ebay for 599 dollars with free s&h. Order it on Wednesday and receive it on Friday. Would like to recommend this company to others
My bf really loves his Lotos CT520Y as his birthday gift… cuts the metal like hot knife on butter….. However the user manual could be better.
Absolutely a fabulous little machine my CT520D. I am amazed at its power and versatility. The only real downsides are the cheesy triggers, doesn’t come with all you need. Wrong gas hookup, no plugs for either 110 or 220 (of course these are subject to market area), flow meter had a clip missing, hose and clamps are junky, comes without any tungsten, and the plasma consumables are rapidly consumed and you have to buy a huge lot to get any at all. Once you have it all hooked up, the machine cuts and welds like much more expensive machines though as I said, the cutter consumables go quicklly. Even on 110 power it welds and cuts with amazing performance. Overall and bang for the buck, once everything is colelcted and assembled properly, this machine is wonderful.
I purchased a Lotos 50A plasma cutter from their local dealer in Seattle with coupon code “LOTOS11″ for 450 bucks. The machine works really nice. I cut 12″ of 3/4″ metal and did not hit the duty cycle! Unbelievable little machine!! BTW, they use the same consumables as ESAB cutter.
I purchased a ct520d from an ebay store 3 months ago the welder works great better than my lincon, But I went to use the plasma cutter 3 weeks ago and it dosent work at all. I have emailed the seller 3 times asking about the 1 year warranty and no responce. I would call but they dont have a phone number. I looked for a phone nimber in the manual there is not even one for the lotos company. My advice if you do buy one make sure you can actually talk to someone and fine out about the 1 year warranty.
Amazing IGBT Lotos combo unit for 800 dollars shipped. Great plasma cutter and tig welder, have not tried Stick welding.
The instruction book is useless. The flowmeter has the wrong fitting. The plasma cutter and tig unit don’t work. The stick welder works but darn sure ain’t no 200 amps. Lotos 520d. I should have known better. you get what you pay for. A piece of junk.
I bought a lotos auto darkening welding helmet a while back and it is the clearest, quickest, and lightest helmet i own. Works just as good as a $400 hood.
Purchased the Cut50 almost 6 months ago ( 1/9/10) for fabrication on my mini Farm . It has failed to let me down every time I have used it ( Now 7/5/10). Currently cutting Slots in 4″x4″x 3/8″ square tubing for making a ripper bar to attach to a old single gang disk . No pre-drilling starter holes , just angle the head and within a couple of seconds it burns threw and follow my chalk lines . Much smoother cut than I could ever make with a oxy/acet cutting torch and I have been using those for 35 years . Although I do not have the all in one unit with welder and tig , I cannot from an opinion on those models so its hard to say if it is a problem as mentioned above in other reviews or if incorrect technique , insufficient air supply , lack of proper power source ( lack of correct amperage to run machine ) could be their problem . For the Cut50 , a good 45 or even 50 amp power source is required . Air compressor needs to pump at least 5 or 6 cfm’s . TIP : Set air regulator on your compressor to at least 90 psi , turn on cutter and WITH-OUT holding it against work piece , squeeze the trigger , THEN set the supplied regulator to approximately 65 to 75 psi . If you set the supplied regulator on back of machine without following above tip to say 65 when you go to cut it will drop below 65 thus not enough air for it to work properly .
stick still worked, before I shipped it back because the tig and plasma did not. emailed the seller 5 times before I finally told Im shipping it back to be replaced he has had it 3 weeks with no response. this guy has decent prices decent shipping but no and i mean NO customer service. usametalworker.yahoo is the seller
I bought one of these from online and when I opened it up it was all crushed on the top, half of the stuff was missing or didnt even fit right. When I tried to weld with it all it did was sputter like my grandmother with a fly in her throat. The wires are way too short and the hoses were more cracked than an old man’s toenails. I didn’t have too much problem with the directions because I just threw them in the trash. I don’t think it has enough power to use it as a battery charger. I am really impressed with this POS
Its a very good machine ,I am a certified welder and I hate to say its better than my Lincoln Ranger 9 ,its also cheaper ,and enough to take notice ,It also runs 7018 very well .plus most of the tig parts are standard torch etc ,I am very happy and would buy another
I bought this machine mainly for the plasma cutter and i am thrilled at how nicely it works i have spent days just cutting stuff up for the heck of it, i have also stick welded quickly just to see if it works and it seems to do fine i havent tried to stick weld aluminum with it and i have no argon to try the tig which if it works it will be just a bonus as far as im concerned, i have a mig so the tig propably wont ever be used the manual sucks might as well left it in chinese because it didn’t help at all, thank god for you tube, as i have never used a plasma cutter before and didnt know if it needed gas to work or what, they could have thrown in some consumables for the plasma cutter instead of all for the tig but for my little shop working on my old mopars i think the 520d is well worth the money and hopefully will last a long time as i was about to purchase just a plasma cutter for alot more than this 3 way machine cost me
I bought a ct520d tig/stick/plasma cutter about a year ago for some cutting, couldn’t get it to work (pwr light on but nothing else)ended up getting the work done through another source and never touched it. So I got motivated this weekend and took another crack at it. First issue was the wiring…the paper manual is useless, but the manual on the website had a bit more info on the power wires…so I redid them for 110 use (previous was 220) and it still didnt work. Took the cover off the unit and found a wiring harness near the back of the unit wasnt fully seated. Reseated it and now the fan blows and the gas flow solenoid operates, but no plasma arc yet. Looked in the front and saw a (coil temp sensor?) wire on the front circuit board under the large flat copper coil had pulled loose from its spade conenctor. It was too short and under a fair amount of tension when I reattached it, but now I got a good arc and cut through some chromed 3/16 steel clean and easy. I made a little female/male jumper/extension, reattached it and problem solved. Works great now even off a lowly 15amp 110 circuit in my garage (as long as my air compressor is on a different breaker…duhh). Im a novice but may add more info as soon as I try the tig and stick functions.
Some other info: the lock nut and bracket for the air filter are flimsy so do all your fitting changes/attchments with it off the machine. I used a two way valve with 1/4 in quick release fittings so I could easily switch between air and gas while working and disconnect when storing. The ground clamp/cable is about half as long as the plasma torch cable. The ground wire seems thin compared to the hot/neutral wires in the power cord,
Am an advanced home hobby, do-it-yourself welder / metal fabricator. Own a Lincoln 225 TIG, so I don’t scrimp on quality equipment. I decided to take a chance on the LOTOS LT5000D plasma cutter as I believe those offered by Lincoln, Miller, Thermaldine, etc. are priced way above their value… a plasma cutter is a very simple machine. I’ve been very impressed with the performance of the LT5000D, having cut up to and including 3/4″ plate steel. Only a couple things I think could be improved… The 60% duty cycle can sometimes be annoying and I’ll look forward to upgrades in the torch / activator, and cabling as these are among the areas where cost was cut. LOTOS put its money into the electronics, which is where dependability resides.
Customer service is prompt and, for the most part, accurate. Ordered a pack of consumables, which was received in a very timely manner….. twice. SNAFU in the shipping department was quickly rectified and I was completely reimbursed for all shipping charges. I don’t see any reason to think I’ll be seeking another plasma cutting machine or company any time soon.
mine lasted 6 months, before the trouble started. anyone know where to see parts department?
THESE ARE JUNK STAY AWAY Ang DONT EVEN THING ABOUT GETTING A REFUND OR ANY DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
THESE GUYS ARE A JOKE!!!!!
I also bought a ct520d tig/stick/plasma cutter about a year ago. Arc welder works great, no problems. It can go toe to toe with my Miller. Plasma works well, once it is set up. My kids even use it. The Tig works well, however, the gas sometimes fails to turn off after welding. This is annoying. I have welded lots of stainless with this device, all with fine looking welds. Overall, I give it an 8 for price ($600), as the quality in parts is not there.
I ordered this little gem after ordering another one from another company that turned out to be lemon, but not this one. This light weight cutter is only light to carry but cuts like a big unit. I watched a youtube video first before purchasing it. The vid shows a guy cutting 3/4 plate with it so I had to try it myself, guess what?!? Mine seemed to cut faster than the one in the vid. An easy to use, no fuss, clean cutting and huge bang for your buck tool. I suggest it to pros and bumblers too. Very nice to take to job site. As small as a shoe box on its side. I got it sent to me standard shipment and still it arrived two days from order date, TWO DAYS! So much better and cheaper than gas cutting. This is the one folks! I was also impressed that the company called me to make sure I was happy with it, outstanding! I will buy from these guys again. Kris
I am retired, but in my work, I was welding for my trade. This unit I will use very little, as it is just for my use on home projects. I have used it twice, and am very pleased with the results. I cut steel, and aluminum, and it works just like it is supposed to. I like it also, because it won’t blow up, while it’s waiting for my next job.
I have used a plasma cutter twice before so I am a do it yourselfer. Found it very easy to master and the machine performs just as advertised and consistently. Got the machine in three days. The assembly was easy. Everything was there. I haven’t had any problems. I would recommend it.
This is the first plasma cutter I have ever used and it works great.I had to do some adjusting to cut the thickness of metal I was learnuing on but I am very happy with this machine and would reccomend it to anyone.
I love the pilot arc on the LPT5000D. The unit is quick to set up and use. This is perfect for the DIY shop or farm use. I sometimes wish I had got the higher amp unit as it would be quicker on thick material….
I have a Ltpdc2000d Lotos Igbt Pilot Arc 50a Plasma Cutter that works great. I have had it for a year now and it works great. Very easy to run this machine. Very good unit for the cash. Cuts half inch plate if you want it too!.
LOTOS LT5000d – I purchased my unit from “UBARGAIN-online” and after the easy prep-work and installation, using 220v, I found the cutter to be very easy to use. I was amazed at the quality this machine produced! I build platforms for pressure washers and the 3/8th inch steel base plates and light walled tubing were a breeze to cut. LOTOS and ubargain have a winner here, so don’t let the price fool you- this unit is well worth every dime.
The consumables, also from ubargain-online, were very reasonably priced and shipping was super fast! They have their act together! Thanks ubargain!
I bought a LTP5000D Lotos 50A Pilot Arc IGBT Plasma Cutter 110/220
on Ebay. When it arived within a few days(fast!) I openned the box to check it out. Everything was there. I had a few questions about setting it up. So I contacted tech support. They answered all my questions I had and gave me some web links to their troubleshooting pages. I hooked the machine up according to the instructions and got my helmit and a few scrap pieces. It performmed pretty well. The pilot arc was a bit flakey. I had done some research before getting a plasma cutter so I knew what was wrong. The spark gap points were not set correctly. I checked the links tech support gave me and found were the spark gap was in my unit. Just as I thought they were misalinged a bit. After I( reset the gap, I tried it out again and what a difference it made! This little machine can etch as well as cut, depending on the settings. It will do everything I want it to do and then some. I ran out of scrap so i grabbed a piec i was going to use to make a bearing press out of (about a half 1/8 inch up to 1/2 inch thick) I was able to pierce the thin pieces quicker than a drill bit ever could and cut the thicker pieces with equal ease. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a plasma cutter for their shop or home hobbies.
I am a do hobbiest out of my garage and do encounter a fair amount of metal work, For the money this thing has done a very good job so far and handled evan thicker metals like it stated. good product for the money
Very good plasma cutter for the price its hard to beat

I purchased a LTPDC 2000 a year ago and it works perfectly! I received the unit in a timely manner and it came with some consumables. This machine is not for the beginner although it is easy to use IF YOU HAVE COMMON SENSE!! They tell you you need to buy a plug (not all garages are the same) This was no problem. If you have ANY mechanical, welding, and electrical backround, this machine is no problem! Had mine all together and working in an hour! This thing cuts through 1/2-3/4″ metal like hot butter!! Turned my ox-acc. tanks back in. No need for them! Stick welder is HOT. No problem welding. Tig welder is very clean. Even my rookie (TIG) welding looks great!! I have called the company and the gentleman spoke broken English but was understandable. He explained everything to me about the welder AND told me about the plug. I will buy from this company again. I don’t understand why some folks are having so many problems. Mine came with a 3 year warranty…parts and labor. It would have cost me well over $3,000 to buy the “brand” names! I think I’m way ahead of the game even IF I have any problems in the future! I love this machine!
bought the lotos ct520d on ebay it works well for stick a plasme, having problems with the tig, cant get the collet to hold the tungston rod secure. Manual is not worth much for seting up tig components
my lotos lasted about 1 month. i am a retired welder, i was satisfeid with the arc mode. but after a month i’ve got nothing. a waste of money. my calls for help are not answered. thumbs down on this deal.
